Nightingale Offsetting

Moonbat's piece this weekend is all about Medway Council's plan to offset nightingales. You read that correctly and you couldn't make it up. They call it biodiversity offsetting (it is also what Gallagher plan for Oaken Wood in Maidstone).

The developer finds another piece of land, and attempts to encourage the nightingales to relocate when it builds houses on the habitat. When the plan fails nightingales are lost and the developer can simply walk away (and presumably develop the other site too).

Lodge Hill, next to Hoo nr Rochester was where the Climate Camp was in 2008. It has the highest concentration of nightingales in the country. Soon it will have 5000 houses.

Another bunch of useless politicians screwing the natural world - I'm disgusted.
